* Each colored pencil has a number printed on the side which corresponds with the number on the overlay.
* Line up the numbered drawing on the overlay with the drawing on the board.
We recommend you then fix the two together with a pin in the top left and right corners.
* As you color; refer to this guide from time to time by holding the overlay backward on forwards over your drawing (see picture illustrated) this tells you which color to use next.
* Any areas on the guide without a number should not be colored in. For help, refer to the picture to the right or front of this pack.
Working with color
* you can create different shades of color by applying more or less pressure to your colored pencils.
* you can lighten a dark color with the use of a soft eraser.
* you can also blend colors by gently smudging them with your fingers to create a soft edge.
Tips and hints
* Always start at the top of your picture and work downwards, this will prevent smudging your work.
Take great care sharpening your colored pencils. The colored lead inside is fragile.
* For detail use the point of the colored pencil and for larger areas use the side of your pencil.
* To minimize smudging keep a clean piece of paper between your hands and the board.
