Natural flower arrangement

Materials and tools:

  • You will need a large waterproof tin or a bowl for the base of the arrangement. The base of this arrangement is the bottom of a 5-liter water bottle.
  • Wood bark and wood chippings to cover the base. If you do not have a nearby forest trail where you could collect the material, natural flower arrangement materials can also be found at Abakhan.

  • Beautiful forced spring flower bulbs, which can at present be found in well-stocked grocery stores.
  • Branches
  • Different materials for decorating the arrangement – stones, moss, etc.

 Steps to follow:

  • First, cover the base with wood chippings and pieces of bark. They stay in place very well when using hot glue.

  • When you are satisfied with the result, place the flower bulbs in a pot. If you have purchased flowers with a root ball, shake most of the soil off the bulbs and place the flowers where you want them. To fix the flowers in their place, put stones around the bulbs.

  • Tuck different branches between the stones. Willow branches with flowers are especially nice. The branches act as a support for the flower stems as they quickly grow in height in a warm room.

  • Once a sufficiently dense thicket has been formed around the flowers, add smaller stones to the arrangement. If you want to, you can also add moss, snail shells, beads, etc.
  • Now fill the base of the arrangement with enough water to allow the flowers to thrive.

NB! When the arrangement loses its blooms, the base can be used for the next project, such as making an Easter decoration.
