What is cupro?

Cupro is a fabric, the fibres of which are made of the residues of cotton regenerated with the help of chemical processes. Cupro was invented in Germany in the early 20th century and is also known as Bemberg.

Characteristics of cupro

Cupro has all the positive qualities of silk: the fabric is silky smooth and drapes as well as silk. The breathability of the fabric is similar to cotton fabric. Like viscose, cupro absorbs moisture well and wrinkles easily. The cupro fibre readily absorbs dye, resulting in fabrics in rich colours. The fabric has a subtle sheen, making it an elegant choice for dresses, blouses and trousers. A negative feature of cupro is that it stains easily.

Maintenance and care

Use the 40° gentle machine wash cycle to wash a product made of cupro. Bleaching is prohibited. Ironing on medium heat, special dry cleaning allowed, tumble drying prohibited.
